Session 3: Risk and Opportunity

Key Take-Aways:

1.    Learn the Christian’s competitive advantage to see clearly in times of challenge

2.    Identify the right people for your team and recognize the opportunity a downturn creates to improve your team

3.    Find out why “pivoting” in your business can be productive, or can lead to your downfall

Main Idea:

Every Challenge is an opportunity.

Business challenges can sap your energy and feel risky. And the truth is, downturns are risky. But often the biggest risk is allowing the shock and pain of tough times to lead you to the Paralysis of Worry. Leaders sometime allow worry and anxiety to cloud their judgment, leading to missed opportunity.

Tough Times -> Risk & Anxiety -> Paralysis of Worry -> Inability to think clearly-> Missed Opportunity

It doesn’t have to go this way.

Focus Verse: “Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life[f] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?” - Matthew 16:24-26
